Breaking Dawn Controversy
The people at Summit Entertainment certainly know how to torture us, give us little to no information about filming for Breaking Dawn! Breaking is the final book in the Twilight Saga and it just so happens to be the book where all of our burning questions get answered, so of course we are anxiously awaiting any information about the filming of the movie. However Summit has been very vague on Twilight details, in fact even the details that they are giving us is on shaky ground.
A couple weeks ago rumors were swirling that author Stephenie Meyer was the hold-up for the movie because she couldn’t decide if making two movies was a good idea. E! Online is spreading this story:
It seems that series mastermind Stephenie Meyer and Summit have slightly different agendas on that one…
“Stephenie is calling the shots,” our mole tells us, “and she still can’t decide whether or not [making
two movies] is the right thing to do creatively.”“Both sides have very different agendas,” ‘fesses our insider.
See, here’s the breakdown…
Stephenie doesn’t need the money, so what does she care? It’s double the work to split this film up.
However Stephenie Meyer was quick to put a lid on this rumor by posting this message on her own site:
Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I’ve said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I’m all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I’ve spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We’re all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip gets fabricated to stir things up, but there’s no basis to this particular story.
I don’t know about you but I think I would believe Stephenie on this one because just like she said, people are so anxious for any news that rumors are swirling. So what do we know so far? New Moon is being released on March 20th and Eclipse is coming in June, as far as Breaking Dawn, I guess we will have to keep waiting.

Yes I am definatly excited about “Breaking Dawn” being split up into two movies and I think it’s a smart move money wise as well. As long as Rob, Kristen and Taylor are in the films I’m sure they will gross high in the box office. It’s great that it won’t be like “Breaking Dawn” comes out as one movie and then its all over and us twilighters have nothing to look forward to anymore. But being able to see it drawn out and enjoy more of the details of “Breaking Dawn” will be very exciting! Twilight will no longer be twilight though if the three main stars aren’t in it, but I’m sure that summit knows that and they will all eventually reach an agreement, I just hope that it doesn’t stall production time by a lot!
And one more thing… it would be like the best thing ever if they made an alternate ending to “breaking Dawn” because in my opinion the books ending was a little dull… after four books and everything that had happend I was exspecting fireworks… but I was a little disappointed. Anyways it would be awesome if the director studied a little of what kind of ending that twilighters were hoping for and gave us taste of another way that it could have ended, happy or sad!
