There are tons of festivites all over and in some of our favorite stores. We are doing a book signing at 98331 Gear and also making an appearance at Bella’s Birthday Party!! Twilight, the beloved novel world wide. No one is quite sure why this vampire romance saga is so addicting and hypnotizing to it’s readers. But, hypnotizing and addicting it surely is. Fans are so absorbed in Stephenie Meyer’s creative wording and and vision she puts in her head, that at some point you don’t even know what you’re reading. Women’s independence is something that has been battled since time began. Women have always been criticized to be less then men. What we do not realize, is that Meyer’s novel digs back up that problem of men being the “dominant species.”
In Twilight, you are experiencing the adjustment of a girl from living with her mother in sunny Phoenix, to her dad in rainy Forks. The typical girl with the typical divorced family is what is projected to you. Already, you see this teenager make sacrifices for other people’s happiness and representing selflessness. And then she sees this mysterious, beautiful, stunning, dazzling, and quiet boy on the other side of the cafeteria. In entering biology, she is offended by his rude behavior. He stares at her in the most vile way that it makes her have self-doubt…without even knowing the boy. At home, she ponders over this boy and what she could’ve possibly done to offend him. And there, the mistakes begin. She shouldn’t have given this boy a second thought because he sure didn’t even think of giving her one. She should’ve stood her ground and forgotten him all together, she though of what she could’ve of possible of done to offend him.
And then the next day, she plans to be assertive and independent and demand to know what his problem was. But the charm with which he intended to dazzle her, stunned and got her off her track. With his formal introduction–in other words, mask–Edward Cullen tries to make up for his fowl and inexcusable behavior.
Throughout the story, Edward starts becoming more interested in Bella, and Bella in Edward. This gets so obsessive to the point that he follows her on a night out with her friends. When Bella is confronted by some dangerous men in the alley way, who could’ve very much hurt her, Edward then comes to her rescue. After saving her, he demands her to distract him from driving back and ripping the mens’ heads off, and Bella doesn’t spare a single question to how he had found her there. At dinner, she has to know what he is, but somehow isn’t offended by the fact she has been followed, stalked, and lied too.
In New Moon, the follow-up novel, you are picking up at the story of star-crossed lovers. But now, after Edward continually tells Bella he loves her and will never leave her, he decided to pick up and leave. After leaving, Bella is broken and emotionless. Not a single sympathetic good-bye did he share, not a strand of love anywhere in his heartless goodbye. Bella, instead of trying to beat herself up and say she’s okay, she beats herself down and tells herself she’s meaningless. Her father, Charlie, states his case and tells her she just can’t be so lifeless. A close friend, Jacob, who has always been on Bella’s side helps her heal slowly. Instead of letting Edward go, and moving on to what was actually good for her, she tries to hurt herself in hopes of hallucinating and imagining his voice. Jacob always appreciates Bella, and feels terribly bad when he has to leave. Bella is broken all over again, and women independence is thrown even further down the road. The mistakes worsen when she decides to jump off a cliff and then go back to the wrong way–and Edward–it was before.
The saga being hopeless in that form from there on, I have decided to move onto the positive affect. I believe that Twilight, shows that any ordinary person can handle anything she puts her mind to and be selfless even when others around her aren’t. Also, you learn how to be brave, and grow as a person yourself.
New Moon adds to those skills when Bella keeps herself together after a traumatic and unfortunate happening, all for the love of her father. Pure selflessness. It also teaches you how to open up to change and people who are willing to help you. And eventually, it teaches you that no life and every life is worth more than your own.
Eclipse is the power of choosing and making choices. Growing up and asserting yourself, standing your ground is a big part of it too. Not letting drama get to you and acting like you’re not scared is something that every human being has to know in real life.
Breaking Dawn teaches you that not everything in the world has to be fought over. And your heart doesn’t divide at times, it grows. For people who try happy endings always come.
All books teach lessons, and all of them good things to know. And not just when you’re living in a world of werewolves and vampires, but also when you’re living in the current economy.
There is good and bad in anything, and whether you know it or not, there is even bad in Twilight. Things in life tend to look perfect from behind a mask, but you have to look past that and not get hypnotized. Look at all sides and know that nothing is absolutely perfect.

All About Stephenie Meyer
Eight years later, Meyer had a dream that changed her life and the way she would live forever…once again, she just wasn’t quite aware yet. In the dream, she had dreamt of an immortal god-looking vampire who was in love with a normal girl. Even though the vampire was in love with her, he still had to fight his never-ending thirst. Stephenie quickly jotted down her dream while her family was still sleeping. What she also didn’t quite know yet, is that she would want to get her book published…and eventually that dream, would end up being chapter thirteen in her best-selling book.
Eventually, Stephenie came to the conclusion that it wasn’t fair to keep these characters thats she loved so much to herself. She thought it only fair to share with others, and these others would hopefully fall in love with the characters too. And no doubt that they did in the end.
So, while juggling her laptop and young kids–all under the age of five–she was able to put together a novel in three months. Now, however, Stephenie was not familiar with the publishing industry. Meyer had absolutely no clue that she probably needed an agent, and needed to contact publishers, and get accounts for publisher searching, and even planning to do all these other things after the book is published…that is if anyone were to read it. She almost quit right then and there…but because if the support of her older sister Emily–who also is honored with a name in the book–she was able to pocker herself up and throw her book out there.
Stephenie say now that the main character, Bella Swan, is mainly the daughter she never had. Now, even this is true, Meyer also says that she is nothing like the character she wrote. She said that she was never that mature, and always fulfilled her role as the youngest child. Stephenie believes that since growing up with many siblings, that it would be interesting to write about something that was completely un-familiar to her.
The picture on the first book was girls hands holding a read apple. They chose this because it talks about the forbidden fruit and what happens when you eat it. So it makes since for the vampire character to have taken the apple, Bella, and bitten out of it, fell in love with her, therefore cursing him and her.

The book was also translated into 20 different languages and she became a known author in 31 different countries.
Stephenie then wrote the follow-up novels: ‘New Moon,’ ‘Eclipse,’ and, ‘Breaking Dawn’
The name for ‘New Moon’ was chosen because one of the characters was supposedly the moon before, but then that character left. So, a new character came into play and was the New Moon. They chose, ‘New Moon,’ because that’s how the character Bella describes the feeling in the book. The cover of ‘New Moon’ is a white rose with red blood. This is chosen because in the beginning of the book, Bella’s at a party and get’s flung into a table with white roses when she is bleeding, so that why the white rose with blood.
The name for ‘Eclipse’ was chosen because the character that originally left was back. Now, Bella is thinking on the new character as the sun, because he cannot be the moon. And the moon is more important to her. So that represents how he will always be next best. The newer character actually said, “I may bring light and heat, but I can’t fight an eclipse.” They chose the broken red string on the front of the book because of the feeling of Bella. She feels she trying to be the old character’s and the new character’s Bella, but soon finds she can’t be both and she breaks that string.
The name for ‘Breaking Dawn’ was chosen because vampire can’t be seen in sunlight. So, tbey had to ‘break dawn’ by beating it. Getting out of it’s way before the sun comes up. Mainly, how that relates to the book is because they all have these difficulties to get figured out, and they have to get them all before the ‘dawn rises,’ and they’re dead. The white king on the chess board being stalked by a red chess, represents that before you were helpless, but now that you’re a king you can defend yourself.
These four books claimed the top four slots in the year-end bestseller list. This honor is a first for any author.
Stephenie Meyer later released that even thought she closed the, ‘Twilight’ series, she wasn’t quite done with the, ‘Twilight’ world. She would be writing, ‘Midnight Sun,’ which is the story of, ‘Twilight’ told from another character’s point of view. Her draft was released illegally on the Internet, and she wanted to give up. But because of the help of her sister Emily, she was able to continue writing. She is still writing the book as we speak.
Stephenie Meyer said that four classic books gave each of hers their own unique inspiration:
‘Pride and Prejudice’ inspired ‘Twilight,’
‘Romeo and Juliet’ inspired ‘New Moon,’
‘Wuthering Heights’ inspired ‘Eclipse,’
‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ inspired ‘Breaking Dawn.’
Summit Entertainment produced a film version of ‘Twilight’ in November 2008. Stephenie Meyer was offered a role in ‘Twilight,’ but not wanting to mess any of it up, she took a non-talking role as a cusotmer in a diner. The thing is, about every studio in Hollywood had turned it down…but the film ended up making 350-million-dollars worldwide.
Now, let’s talk about all the money Mrs. Meyer has gotten from the Twi-world. Stephenie Meyer made $750,000 dollars on her first three books, $400,000 on that last book, $5,000,000 from the movie ‘Twilight,’ and she has an estimated $15,000,000 coming in from the last three movies. Now when we add that all together we come up with the fact that: Stephenie Meyer will make $21,150,000 dollars from the Twi-world when it’s over. That’s enough to pay off her mini-van!

New Blog Checklist
1. Change Password
Login to you new blog dashboard. (From here you will control the look, feel and function of your blog; as well as create posts and pages.) Click on ‘Users’ and then your username. Scroll to the bottom, type in your new password and click ‘update profile’.
2. Choose Theme
Click on ‘Design’ and you can edit the current default theme or choose a new template. To add your own image to the default theme just go to ‘Custom Image’ in the ‘Design’ section and upload your own image. (We will be adding theme and customization tutorials soon.)
3. Write First Post
From the dashboard click on ‘Write a New Page’. Type your first post and click ‘Publish’. Most people write a welcome message or information about what they plan to write about in their blog.
4. Delete Placeholder Post
Every new blog is created with a standard placeholder post titled “Hello world!”. To delete it go to ‘Manage’ and ‘Posts’. Check the box next to the post titles “Hello world!” and hit ‘Delete’.
