Dakota Fanning Models for Marc Jacobs Fragrance!

From The Huffington Post:

Fanning will front the ad campaign for the floral scent, which is a spin-off of the brand’s Lola perfume. Said Jacobs to Women’s Wear Daily, “We recolored the bottle and changed the juice [...] This Lola is more of a Lolita than a Lola, but we weren’t going to call the fragrance Lolita. Lola is more seductive; Oh, Lola is sensual, but she’s sweeter.”

Interesting.  I’ll have to keep a look out for this next time I’m out and about.    She looks great and I like the softness of the photo but I hate the cave affect.  I’m just glad she’s 18!  Phallic much?

Dakota Fanning Graduates!

Looks like Dakota Fanning graduated from high school!  Way to go Jane!

From People Magazine:

From a ruthless Volturi vampire in the Twilight saga to legendary rocker Cherie Currie in The Runaways, Dakota Fanning has taken on many major roles in her career – but this might be her biggest one yet.

On Monday, the actress, 17, became a high school graduate.

Donning a blue cap and gown, Fanning received her diploma from North Hollywood’s Campbell Hall Episcopal High School, where she was a cheerleader and this year’s homecoming queen. The ceremony was held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

Wednesdays Are Busy in Twilight

Thanks for FanPop for these photos of Dakota Fanning leaving LAX for Vancouver:

LOVE her Hunter boots!

Looks like weather could be a problem in Vancouver, unless they’re working the snow in and the house is wrapped in green screens so shooting is ready to begin:

You can see many other photos here.

Thanks to Hollywood North On Location for the photos.

The stunt team has been working at Bella’s House on what looks like the part of the book where Emmet and Jasper take Edward from Bella’s house for his bachelor party!  I can’t think of any other part of the book where this would be necessary.  I could be forgetting something but regardless, that seems to be the general consensus.  Here is a video of the stunt team practicing at Bella’s house with a couple of photos:

Dakota Fanning on Best Performances List in W Magazine!

W Magazine has a special article entitled “Best Performances”where they single out the top character performances of 2010.  I think this is a great idea because the lead usually  gets all the attention and it’s nice to see those that are either supporting actors or share top billing get the recognition they deserve.
I LOVE this photo of Dakota Fanning.  It reminds me of the photos of Jody Foster as Iris in Taxi Driver.  I think it was probably intentional, but she looks beautiful regardless.  I also love adding a new photographer to my list of loves.  More than one photographer shot the photos in this series but Inez van Lamsweerde shot both Dakota and Elle for W.

“The most remarkable moments in film this past year weren’t 3-D action sequences but characters so real they hurt…In the end, the largest measure of these performances is not their adherence to fact but the vivacity and depth of the characterizations. This portfolio is a salute to their greatness. In choosing these actors, we were not trying to guess at nominations or awards. Rather, we were trying to acknowledge and salute the work, to acknowledge and thank the actors for telling the truth—even when the truth was fiction.”

Dakota Fanning in “The Runaways”
“It was important for me to go to a normal high school. I have a locker, which was a big deal. My mom had to buy me a lock and teach me how to use it. It’s the little things: Where do you go at lunch? How do you open the locker? I wanted a yearbook! Now I have a lot of signatures in my yearbook—‘Have a good summer’ and all that.”
Her sister Elle is in it as well:

Elle Fanning in “Somewhere”
“The first movie I really fell in love with was The Seven Year Itch. I love Marilyn Monroe. I went as her in the white dress for Halloween. I did the mole and the little cat eye.”

‘Fame Monsters’ Portraits in ELLE!

Elle is featuring some incredible art by New York painter Richard Phillips. He has included some of the Twilight stars in his new work.  The portraits are in a series titled ‘Most Wanted’ and include Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Dakota Fanning among others stars. Included with each portrait are Phillips’ thoughts on each of his hella famous subjects.

Kristen Stewart, 2010

“I think the easiest one right off the bat was Kristen because of her relationship with Pattinson; plus, New Moon and Twilight were such a success. And just at that time she was hitting it big with The Runaways with Dakota Fanning. The Runaways was kind of a great but wasted opportunity, because the film was horribly directed and terribly shot, but their performances isolated from that were great.”

Robert Pattinson, 2009

“The demand for getting things right with Pattinson—getting the lips right, the beard right—is important because all the character he has in his classic ‘I’ve seen it all before’ look is made up of all those constituent parts. A friend of mine stopped by and said, ’There’s a subliminal message in his beard, but I can’t make it out.’ There isn’t [laughs].”

Dakota Fanning, 2011

“In the hand-painted billboard Marc Jacobs has on Greenwich Avenue, I remember their use of Day-Glo yellow, and I felt that would be the color of the halo. When we found the blue, it was the ultimate Marc Jacobs blue; I think I even had a shirt I based it on. The yellow and blue seemed to be the perfect combination to deal with the tint to her hair. She has a very innocent look and should be the one you feel the most relaxed with because of the feelings she evokes. But the Dakota Fanning image scares me the most.”
