The last remaining section of the old Forks High School has been demolished. This is what it looked like during my visit in October:
There was a big effort to save the facade and use it as a sort of arched walkway to the new school, which would have been nice but they just weren’t able to raise the money. I blogged about it during my trip to Forks on my personal blog and I included a rendering of the facade I was sent by Don Grafstrom from Twilighters for Forks. You can see that post HERE.
Visit the Forks Forum to see short articles on the demolishing of Forks High School, A story of a man who was a student there during the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the recovery of a time capsule from behind the 1925 marker signifying the year the school was built. Most of these stories are still on the front page today.
Now that the old school is totally gone, I’m even more pleased that I have an original brick from the old school. If you’d like one as well visit Theforksforest at Etsy. We told you about here back in an early February post. She also offers other fun Forks items. She has a bookmark with little pieces of Forks inside. Very cool!
She also offers boxes which hold the bricks perfectly! They’re made from the recycled wood from the old gym floor at Forks High School!
