*Best Twilight Cast Moments in 2011*

Each December, it’s fun to look back at some of the year’s most memorable moments in Twilight. Then, around New Year’s, we can start to look forward to what’s to come for Twilight fans.

This year, there were plenty of things worth remembering about the Twilight Saga and the personalities involved, so here’s a look back at the eleven most stand-out aspects of 2011 in the world of Twilight.

As with every year the big three were seen on many a magazine cover this year, but it was Kristen Stewart, particularly, who tore it up this year, hitting the covers of VogueWGlamourGlamour UK, and more. The one which really seemed to stand out, for Kristen Stewart fans and the world at large, was her GQ UKcover. Wowza!

She also appeared in the music video for Marcus Foster’s “I Was Broken,” at the MET Gala with the designers from Proenza Schouler, and at Glamour‘s Women of the Year Awards. Not to mention, she was a part of the many, many promotional appearances discussed below, and she’s been filming a big new action movie to boot.

The year started out really well in the Awards Show department for Twilight, with the cast flying in from the set of Breaking Dawn to collect some People’s Choice Awards and say hello to us all after a long drought without seeing them. Then, in February, we all felt a little duped by the supposed “Oscars surprise” which fell pretty short of the producers’ promise. All was well, though, since the Twilight Saga escaped virtually unscathed by the Razzie Awards once again, and once the summer began to roll around, it was MTV Movie Awards time . . . which is always a good time for Twilight fans. The cast cleaned up, and the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 was released. The Teen Choice Awards also recognized Twilight with five awards for the cast, but the big event, as usual, was the Movie Awards, with People’s Choice coming in a close second (if for no other reason than a memory of Queen Latifah embarrassing the mess out of Taylor Lautner).

There were some great new projects involving the Twilight cast to make a splash this year. Robert Pattinson’s Water For Elephants hit theaters in the spring, and he filmed Cosmopolis this summer. Taylor Lautner’s Abduction came along in the fall, and he’s been attached to a new Gus Van Sant indie. Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart picked up a great new gig as “Snow White” for Snow White And The Huntsman, and the first trailer for that film blew us all away. Anna Kendrick teamed up with Eclipse star Bryce Dallas Howard for the buzzy fall film 50/50, and Jamie Campbell Bower and Eclipse star Xavier Samuel were inAnonymous. Howard also portrayed the witchy “Hilly Holbrook” in the successful film translation of The Help, and Bower was picked for the ultra-coveted leading male role in The Mortal Instruments. Finally, Jackson Rathbone’s Girlfriend movie, which prides itself on pioneering the industry with the first leading actor to have Down Syndrome, picked up some speed after winning the Gotham Audience Award.

One big achievement for the Twilight Saga‘s leading trio was being immortalized at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. They join an elite few who’ve received this honor, and they’ve thusly become a part of Hollywood history forever. In their various TV appearances surrounding the event, it was clear that they had a hard time believing the fortune of that honor themselves.

Twilight Humor

You’ve gotta love it when the Twilight cast participates in a funny or two. This year, there were many. Both Michael Sheen and Elizabeth Reaser did hilariously dramatic readings of Twilight fanfiction, for starters. Whoever thought of getting them to do that was sheer genius. Then, Taylor Lautner did a Funny Or Die sketch on the woes of football fans fearing the perpetual lock out earlier this year. Finally, Peter Facinelli and Nikki Reed teamed up for a ”Wondertwins” sketch series that had us simultaneously laughing and cringing.

Appearances Far and Wide

As with every year, there were tons of Twilight cast appearances in 2011, be they international press tour stops, Comic-Con panels (where some of the cast, by the way, came out to serve breakfast to fans who camped out for the event), the Twilight convention stop in L.A., awards shows, or the Breaking Dawn premieres themselves. It’s always nice to see their smiling faces, right?

With Breaking Dawn, Stephenie Meyer accomplished a first – working as a film producer. It wasn’t her only turn doing that this year, though, as she worked on Austenland, the book-to-film adaptation of her friend Shannon Hale’s novel of the same name. She also appeared on-screen, again, in Breaking Dawn, and the film adaptation of her sci-fi novel The Host gained a few new castmates thanks in part to her work in promoting the film at Cannes. Needless to say, she’s not just the Twilight Saga‘s author anymore. Stephenie Meyer’s gone Hollywood!

Between the release of Robert Pattinson’s “Songs from a Room,” Jackson Rathbone taking his 100 Monkeys across the globe, Billy Burke releasing his second music video, and, of course, Breaking Dawn – Part 1‘s soundtrack fitting so nicely with the film, 2011 was another big year in Twilight-related music.

Twilight stars and filmmakers support eachother

One nice thing about the relationships developed within the Twilight Saga is the support they’ve shown eachother when given the opportunity. First, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner showed up to support the premiere of New Moon director Chris Weitz’s A Better Life this summer, and Weitz reciprocated by turning up for Taylor Lautner’s Abduction premiere in the fall. Weitz wasn’t the only one to come along for that – director Bill Condon and co-star Booboo Stewart were there as well. Ashley Greene also had some Breaking Dawn co-star support from Julia Jones and Casey LaBow at the premiere for her filmSkateland.

Of course, inarguably the biggest event of 2011 in Twilight-land was the production and release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Just over a year ago, the filming process began on it, and already it’s here and tearing up the box office. We all watched as glimpses trickled in from here and there during production, but most of the surprises and best moments of the movie were saved for the big screen. Fan reactions to this installment were overwhelmingly positive, and we were all left thirsty for the final film, which debuts next November 16, 2012.

Peter Facinelli Reveals Details About Breaking Dawn Wedding Shoot!!

While Peter said the wedding scene between Edward and Bella in Breaking Dawn was both “beautiful and spectacular” he commented on the amount of rain they got while filming these important scenes.

”With this wedding, it rained the whole time we shot the two scenes. But you’ll never see it on film, they block out the rain. They put tarps up and you’ll never see it. But for us, it was very wet and muddy and cold.”

From MTV.com:

Earlier this week, MTV News learned of an exciting “Twilight” and “American Idol” mash-up between Peter Facinelli and “Idol” castoff Paul McDonaldon the “Loosies” soundtrack. Naturally, we couldn’t let Facinelli hang up the phone until we addressed another important subject matter: “Breaking Dawn.”

Unlike co-star Robert Pattinson, Facinelli has yet to wrap his work on the “Twilight” saga.

“I still have another two weeks of second-unit stunt work, so for me, it doesn’t feel quite done yet,” he said. “I haven’t really had that moment of remorse or blues, you know, the blues of finishing. I’m in the midst of still finishing myself.”

Regarding a few key scenes that his co-stars have mentioned — specifically the Taylor Lautner vs. Kristen Stewart fight scene— Facinelli agreed that seeing the much smaller Stewart take on Lautner was entertaining.

“Oh yes, I was there for that,” he said. “[It was] very funny. … But you have to kick his butt a little bit,” Facinelli added about the idea of Lautner’s character Jacob imprinting on Bella and Edward’s daughter Renesmee.

Although he couldn’t go into too much detail, we asked Facinelli to describe the heavily hyped wedding scene for us.

“Beautiful and spectacular,” he said. “It’s funny, because whenever we have a big important scene on ‘Twilight’ [movies], it rains. I was doing the baseball sequence [from 'Twilight'], and it was raining. But you never see it on film,” he said of the filmmaking crew’s movie magic. “With this wedding, it rained the whole time we shot the two scenes. But you’ll never see it on film, they block out the rain. They put tarps up and you’ll never see it. But for us, it was very wet and muddy and cold.”

Can’t wait to see this scene!!!!!

A Bloody Nose: Peter Facinelli

Nurse Jackie is my favorite show on TV right now.  It is by far the best new show to come out in years and Dr. Cooper is a HUGE part of that.  Edie Falco plays Nurse Jackie flawlessly but Dr. Cooper is so pathetic that you can’t help but feel sorry for him and he’s such a cute little off kilter nutjob.

In this video Peter talks about where they left off last year and what we can expect from the new season which starts March 28th on Showtime.

With news out that the final fight scene has already been shot, I was starting to wonder what was left to film.  As it turns out, something pretty important is on the shooting agenda for April…..THE WEDDING SCENE!  From what I can gather, it will be shot early in April in Vancouver!  Makes me wonder what was going on in that tree lined park in Baton Rouge, not that I really want to know.  I love surprises!

The news was revealed by Gil Birmingham, who plays Billy Black, during a chat at at the Official Twilight Convention in Nashville, Tennessee over the weekend.  I like Gil and look forward to seeing him at a convention next month!

I’m just excited to see the wedding dress!  I hope it isn’t leaked before the film comes out.  That feels almost impossible but how great would that be to see it for the first time in the theater?  I’m sure I’ll see all the movies again in some sort of a Twilight Saga all day event so it would be wonderful to be able to not know what the dress looks like before then.

Kristen Stewart talked to MTV News a few months back about the dress:

“To be honest, it’s such a big deal. It’s such a big decision. I have a little hand in having a decision — or having an opinion more — but I think it’s pretty much up to Stephenie,” Stewart said, referring to “Twilight” saga author Stephenie Meyer. “I’m not quite sure exactly what it’s going to look like, but it will be beautiful, I’m sure,” she added.

Peter arrived back in Vancouver this weekend after having to cancel all of his scheduled apperances over the weekend, including the Official Twilight Convention in Nashville.  He looked great (as always) and ready to get back to work!  I’m worried about his dark hair.  I feel a horrible Carlisle wig coming on……

Jackson canceled another appearance at a Twilight Convention, not that any of us thought he’d be there anyway.

It was reported yesterday that Rob and Kristen ignored fans while on their way to shoot at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver.  They apparently jumped from their van and went immediately into the theater door to film their scenes.  While I’m sure it stinks to wait hours for a sighting of someone and get nothing, they are filming so they’re working and are in that mindset.  Also, this is the same day that a guy dressed in a diaper and the worst boots I’ve ever seen tried to sneak into their hotel so maybe they are a little gun shy, I’m just sayin…..

Twilight on Wednesday

There was some interesting news out today.  I started my morning with my kids eating breakfast while I watched some of the MTV interviews with Peter Facinelli from the Golden Globeswhere as God is my witness he was channeling his inner Elvis.

Anyhoo, they talked to him a bit about Bill Condon and what it was like shooting the final scene ( sniff..) which has apparently already been done.  I posted a couple of videos below:

Another piece of news and this could be total crap so know that as you read this, is that two more girls have been hired to play Reneseme at different stages.  I will post the photos below and I’ll be honest, I don’t get it because I think they’re too close to Mackenzie so what’s the point?  This thought makes me lean towards the “this is crap” side of things, but I’ll post their photos anyway.  Their names are Eliza Faria and  Rachel St Gelais:

Xavier Samuel Cast in A Few Best Men!
This from Imdb:

A comedy about a groom and his three best men who travel to the Australian outback for a wedding.

Xaview plays David and it looks like he’s the lead.  Olivia Newton-John plays the mother of the bride.  Random.  I guess it IS Australia, but it sounds like a cute movie so I’ll keep a look out for it.  I just can’t hear Olivia Newton-John without thinking, “Have you Never Been Mellow?” ~ Look it up.

There is clearly no release date yet as it hasn’t even started filming but look for this in 2012.

Cosmopolis is a big ole’ flip flopper!

We found out last week that Marion Cotillard who is set to play Rob’s wife in Cosmopolis is pregnant and when they start shooting, she will have quite the baby bump.  I don’t see a way around replacing her, which sucks because I really like her and was looking forward to seeing her in this role.

Today David Cronenberg’s website changed not once but twice.  It listed Rob and Kiera Knightly  under casting.  Her photo was up as well.  Random?    Maybe, but how does stuff like that happen?  It will be interesting to see if she takes over the roll and putting her name up was just a gung ho assistant.  I’m sure she’d be great in the role and nothing will stop me from seeing this film, but I was looking forward to Marion Cotillard playing Mrs. Parker.  I guess time will tell.  They certainly took her name down from the site once this was picked up so who knows what’s going on over there.  I guess it is telling enough that Marion’s name and photo aren’t up on the site.  There was talk of her being too old to play Rob’s wife, which bothers me, true or not.

Check the director’s website for the ever changing cast of Cosmopolis.

The LA TIMES talks to Rob backstage:

Robert Pattinson seemed to be enjoying himself during the Golden Globe telecast — relaxing backstage with a beer and debating on how he’d present one of the trophies.

Our associates over at Awards Tracker peeped the hectic behind-the-scenes action, where “Twilight Saga” star was spotted indulging in a Heineken with Summit Entertainment head Eric Feag.

Pattinson was tapped with actress Olivia Wilde to present best foreign-language film (a category that host Ricky Gervais said “no one in America cares about”).

“And zee winner is,” he said, doing his best Pepe Le Pew. Pattinson didn’t use a gimmick — and wound up not doing much at all next to a glowing Wilde.

Incidentally, backstage, Danish director Susan Bier pointed out that in her country, the win for “In a Better World” means “that a tiny country of 5 million people can actually manage to communicate to the rest of the world, which is a great achievement … probably more than most of you realize.”

See, Ricky, they do care in Denmark!

Peter Facinelli Takes the Family to Disneyland!

Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth took their daughters to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA on Tuesday, December 28th.

The Twilight star and his beautiful wife took time out from their fun to pose for a few family photos with their three equally beautiful daughters, Luca, Lola and Fiona.

After working such long hours on the Breaking Dawn set I’m sure Peter was excited for the downtime with his girls.  Also, how either of them is old enough to have three kids is beyond me.  It seems just like week Peter was Mike Dexter!
