*Best Twilight Cast Moments in 2011*

Each December, it’s fun to look back at some of the year’s most memorable moments in Twilight. Then, around New Year’s, we can start to look forward to what’s to come for Twilight fans.

This year, there were plenty of things worth remembering about the Twilight Saga and the personalities involved, so here’s a look back at the eleven most stand-out aspects of 2011 in the world of Twilight.

As with every year the big three were seen on many a magazine cover this year, but it was Kristen Stewart, particularly, who tore it up this year, hitting the covers of VogueWGlamourGlamour UK, and more. The one which really seemed to stand out, for Kristen Stewart fans and the world at large, was her GQ UKcover. Wowza!

She also appeared in the music video for Marcus Foster’s “I Was Broken,” at the MET Gala with the designers from Proenza Schouler, and at Glamour‘s Women of the Year Awards. Not to mention, she was a part of the many, many promotional appearances discussed below, and she’s been filming a big new action movie to boot.

The year started out really well in the Awards Show department for Twilight, with the cast flying in from the set of Breaking Dawn to collect some People’s Choice Awards and say hello to us all after a long drought without seeing them. Then, in February, we all felt a little duped by the supposed “Oscars surprise” which fell pretty short of the producers’ promise. All was well, though, since the Twilight Saga escaped virtually unscathed by the Razzie Awards once again, and once the summer began to roll around, it was MTV Movie Awards time . . . which is always a good time for Twilight fans. The cast cleaned up, and the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 was released. The Teen Choice Awards also recognized Twilight with five awards for the cast, but the big event, as usual, was the Movie Awards, with People’s Choice coming in a close second (if for no other reason than a memory of Queen Latifah embarrassing the mess out of Taylor Lautner).

There were some great new projects involving the Twilight cast to make a splash this year. Robert Pattinson’s Water For Elephants hit theaters in the spring, and he filmed Cosmopolis this summer. Taylor Lautner’s Abduction came along in the fall, and he’s been attached to a new Gus Van Sant indie. Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart picked up a great new gig as “Snow White” for Snow White And The Huntsman, and the first trailer for that film blew us all away. Anna Kendrick teamed up with Eclipse star Bryce Dallas Howard for the buzzy fall film 50/50, and Jamie Campbell Bower and Eclipse star Xavier Samuel were inAnonymous. Howard also portrayed the witchy “Hilly Holbrook” in the successful film translation of The Help, and Bower was picked for the ultra-coveted leading male role in The Mortal Instruments. Finally, Jackson Rathbone’s Girlfriend movie, which prides itself on pioneering the industry with the first leading actor to have Down Syndrome, picked up some speed after winning the Gotham Audience Award.

One big achievement for the Twilight Saga‘s leading trio was being immortalized at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. They join an elite few who’ve received this honor, and they’ve thusly become a part of Hollywood history forever. In their various TV appearances surrounding the event, it was clear that they had a hard time believing the fortune of that honor themselves.

Twilight Humor

You’ve gotta love it when the Twilight cast participates in a funny or two. This year, there were many. Both Michael Sheen and Elizabeth Reaser did hilariously dramatic readings of Twilight fanfiction, for starters. Whoever thought of getting them to do that was sheer genius. Then, Taylor Lautner did a Funny Or Die sketch on the woes of football fans fearing the perpetual lock out earlier this year. Finally, Peter Facinelli and Nikki Reed teamed up for a ”Wondertwins” sketch series that had us simultaneously laughing and cringing.

As with every year, there were tons of Twilight cast appearances in 2011, be they international press tour stops, Comic-Con panels (where some of the cast, by the way, came out to serve breakfast to fans who camped out for the event), the Twilight convention stop in L.A., awards shows, or the Breaking Dawn premieres themselves. It’s always nice to see their smiling faces, right?

With Breaking Dawn, Stephenie Meyer accomplished a first – working as a film producer. It wasn’t her only turn doing that this year, though, as she worked on Austenland, the book-to-film adaptation of her friend Shannon Hale’s novel of the same name. She also appeared on-screen, again, in Breaking Dawn, and the film adaptation of her sci-fi novel The Host gained a few new castmates thanks in part to her work in promoting the film at Cannes. Needless to say, she’s not just the Twilight Saga‘s author anymore. Stephenie Meyer’s gone Hollywood!

Between the release of Robert Pattinson’s “Songs from a Room,” Jackson Rathbone taking his 100 Monkeys across the globe, Billy Burke releasing his second music video, and, of course, Breaking Dawn – Part 1‘s soundtrack fitting so nicely with the film, 2011 was another big year in Twilight-related music.

Twilight stars and filmmakers support eachother

One nice thing about the relationships developed within the Twilight Saga is the support they’ve shown eachother when given the opportunity. First, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner showed up to support the premiere of New Moon director Chris Weitz’s A Better Life this summer, and Weitz reciprocated by turning up for Taylor Lautner’s Abduction premiere in the fall. Weitz wasn’t the only one to come along for that – director Bill Condon and co-star Booboo Stewart were there as well. Ashley Greene also had some Breaking Dawn co-star support from Julia Jones and Casey LaBow at the premiere for her filmSkateland.

Of course, inarguably the biggest event of 2011 in Twilight-land was the production and release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Just over a year ago, the filming process began on it, and already it’s here and tearing up the box office. We all watched as glimpses trickled in from here and there during production, but most of the surprises and best moments of the movie were saved for the big screen. Fan reactions to this installment were overwhelmingly positive, and we were all left thirsty for the final film, which debuts next November 16, 2012.

Fun Interview with Taylor…..

Taylor

Taylor

Interview at Beverly Hills hotel—-Post media news/ Vancouver Sun

As usual, the always affable Lautner bubbles with enthusiasm during an interview at a Beverly Hills hotel just before the release of Part 1.

Q: What music are you listening to?

A: This one actually stresses me out. I am so all over the place with my music tastes that it is ridiculous.

Q: How so?

A: I’ll find myself listening to weird things like hardcore techno music, and then I’ll be listening to mainstream hip-hop. I’m so crazy with my music tastes. I’ll listen to a song, I’ll become obsessed with it, and then I’m onto the next one.

Q: Okay, so what’s up with Jacob in Breaking Dawn – Part I?

A: I was really excited about this one because, I mean, Jacob becomes a man, and he has to make a lot of decisions. He’s torn between his two families.

Q: What was it like working with director Bill Condon for the first time?

A: I trusted him completely. It was really special, and now seeing the movie, I’m really happy. . . . It’s just very exciting to see (Jacob) in a completely different light than before.

Q: And then there is the imprinting scene with Bella’s baby, Renesmee. What’s that about?

A: That was tough because what is imprinting? What do you look like when you imprint? Those were all the questions going through my head. Luckily, we had Stephenie (Meyer) on set the entire time, and trust me, I asked her a million times.

Q: As the Twilight series comes to a close, what won’t you miss?

A: Not wearing clothes. I love Vancouver, but we always have to film when it’s cold and rainy and gross. The sun comes out and we have to stop filming.

Q: Other than that, has the Twilight fame been all positive for you?

A: I honestly can’t even think of complaints or anything that I wouldn’t want to do because of everything that it has given me. It’s just absolutely unreal, and I didn’t see it coming at all. None of us did.

Q: Has the bond with Pattinson and Stewart been helpful?

A: It’s really unbelievable how much we’ve all gotten along. I can’t imagine filming this franchise if we didn’t. It would be a complete nightmare if we didn’t.

Q: Twi-hards are obsessively devoted. What has been your craziest encounter?

A: The craziest fan encounter? It’s tough to choose just one, and I don’t like using the word crazy. I like using the word passionate.

Q: What was your most passionate encounter?

A: I’ve had a few girls that tattooed a picture of my signature to their arm. I mean that blows my mind. Something new happens every single day and it continues to blow my mind.

Q: Will you take a part of Jacob with you into your future?

A: Absolutely. After playing the same character for five movies and four years, you grow so close to him. You start putting yourself into Jacob, and you start putting Jacob into you.

Q: So you still like him?

A: I love Jacob. There are many things that I look up to Jacob for. Jacob is one of the most loyal people, one of the most persistent people. He has amazing qualities. I hope that I can learn from him.

Q: Do you feel a need to continue your momentum by making lots of films after Twilight?

A: It’s definitely not just a matter of finding something that keeps your face out there. I mean, I want everything to feel special to me, and I’m very specific about that.

Q: Are you concerned about being typecast?

A: We’ve all said this to each other because we all deal with it. It would almost be a compliment to be typecast because that’s our jobs.

The 19-year-old Lautner continues to be reliable and sensible as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 unfolds in a very dramatic way at the box office.

The first part of Breaking Dawn (based on Stephenie Myer’s book) has raked in more than $489 million U. S. worldwide after two weeks in theatres. Part 2, already filmed and set for release in November of 2012, is on track to do even better.

So far, Lautner seems to be taking the celebrated success of the franchise in stride, even as he makes the transition into adulthood and a career without Twilight.

Own a Replica of Bella’s New Moon Jacket!!

..And not just any jacket, Bella’s “I’m not good enough” jacket!  It’s the jacket he left her in although I don’t think it comes with the tears and dirt she must have gotten on it when she laid on the ground in her state of Edwardless depression.  Makes sense.

It’s $96 and is made of cotton and nylon. You can purchase it HERE. Although it isn’t my colour, it’s kinda neat and I really like the cut of it.  This is a product description from the site:

Release Date for Breaking Dawn I Soundtrack!

Summit Entertainment has announced that the Breaking Dawn I soundtrack will be released on November 8th, a full ten days before the film is released on November 18th 2011!

While the track list is still under wraps it has been reported that  the Noisettes “Sister Rosetta (Capture the Spirit)” might be in the running and just last month Evanescence revealed their hope get one of their songs on the soundtrack. “I’ve been screaming for “My Heart Is Broken” to be included because I think it would fit the story so well.” We’ll have to wait and see but I personally disagree with that Evanescense song.  I like it but not for this, not now.

The first single will be out before the release of the soundtracks so I look forward to seeing what that will be.  The Twilight Saga soundtracks have never disappointed so I have high expectations.

Other Twilight Saga first singles:

Twilight ~ Paramore “Decode”

The Twilight Saga: New Moon ~ Death Cab for Cutie ~ “Meet Me on the Equinox”

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse ~ Muse ~ “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)”

I for one hope the Noisettes make the cut because that song is great and I can totally hear it on the soundtrack!  You can see the video bellow:

Twilight Wednesday!

I took the day off yesterday and photographed a baby coming into the world but I’m back today and it’s a pretty good day! Lots of fun Twilight things going on so lets get started!

Kristen Stewart snagged the award for Best Female Actress at the Milan Film Festival! She won the Leonardo Horse for her role as Mallory in Welcome to the Riley’s, according to Hollywood Life.

This movie has done well at a lot of film festivals including Sundance so if you haven’t seen it, you should.  It may be her best performance to date.

Rob’s 25th Birthday is just arround the corner and he’s let the metioned the only thing he seems to want for his birthday, Hanes t-shirts!  I buy these for my husband all the time.  They’re like $8 so it isn’t a big request.  Kind of an odd thing to want for your birthday but it’s his birthday and in his defence, he looks really good in a t-shirt!

He had this to say about his request:

“I have no idea — I don’t really want anything. I like old Hanes T-shirts. That’s genuinely the only thing — I seem to go through and lose them all the time.”

Michael Sheen talks about Aro in Breaking Dawn!

“Hopefully it’s a mixture of things,” Sheen said when asked if Aro transitions to full-on bad guy or toes the line between good and bad. “He’s much more of a presence than he was in ‘New Moon.’ He’s such a wonderful character, and I hope that I’ve brought a variety of things to it, not just that he’s the evil bad guy. I hope there’s a whole mixture of things there.”

Read more HERE.

Rob has admitted that, although he has enjoyed playing Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga, he will spend years trying to make other people see that he is much more that a sparkly vampire before people really take him seriously as an actor.

“When you’re really successful you pay a certain price. Especially because I’ve been so successful with Twilight I will probably have to prove for the next 10 years that I am more than just Edward.”

It’s nice to hear him talking a bit about life after Edward.  You can hear him speak about it HERE.

BooBoo Stewart talked to Hollywood Life about the end of the Twilight Saga:

“It definitely was extremely sad… I will say that… Its been two years of my life. I started when I was 15 and it still will be another two years with the releases, but its been so amazing and everyone has been so cool,” the 17-year-old star, who plays Stewart Clearwater, told us.

You can read more HERE.

Rob has revealed to MTV News that he hopes his kiss with Kristen Stewart in Twilight Saga: Eclipse can win the Best Kiss at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards!

From MTV News:

When asked what his secret is when it comes to winning the Best Kiss accolade, R-Pattz sighed: “I don’t know. I mean – I thought I won it three times?! Did I win it three – [laughs]. It’s kind of terrifying if you suddenly stop winning it, you’re like ‘Oh God!’.”

The 24-year old added: “It’s almost worse than if you stop winning like, acting awards or whatever. If you can’t kiss anymore, it’s like ‘What?! I’m still good at kissing!’”

Kristen talked to Entertainment Weekly about the wedding scene in Breaking Dawn as well as the honeymoon love scenes!

From MTV News UK:

Now, Stewart has confessed to Entertainment Weekly that she was pleased with how the raunchy part of the movie worked out, telling the publication: “It feels like a real love scene, not necessarily vampire-y, which is good.”

The 21-year old actress also gave an insight of what fans can expect from her Twilight wedding to Pattinson, stating: “There was a certain point when I walked on set, and I saw everyone from the entire cast sitting there in the pews, about to do their bit.”   ~ Thanks to MTV News UK!

Lastly, and what is probably the most random thing I’ve seen in ages, Rob is interviewed by Rick Astley about Water for Elephants!  Not sure why he’s interviewing him but if you’re over the age of 30, you know who this is.

 Hella random.

Summit Goes After Those Responsible for Tweeting Breaking Dawn Leaked Photos!

Who didn’t see this coming, I mean really?

It was originally thought (or at least mentioned) that Summit Entertainment wouldn’t be going after those who leaked the Breaking Dawn photos.  I for one didn’t believe that for a second but there is news out today that just over a week ago Summit filed suit against 10 John Does.  They seem to be going after those who Tweeted the images.  Although that’s kinda like going after the drug user and not the kingpin, but maybe that’s just me.

I understand that those who stole them committed a crime and should be punished so I would think starting at the top makes more sense but perhaps they’re going after those they’re capable of tracking down.  I guess we’ll wait and see how it plays out.

You can read a little more about it HERE.

Summit Throws BIG Bucks at Breaking Dawn!

The Wrap is reporting that Breaking Dawn (Parts I&II) have a budget of $263 million!  That’s substamtially more than we’d heard before about more than was allotted for Eclipse.  This info came out this week when Summit documents that were used to borrow $750 million in capital this week were released.  I like to call this the “Twilight Loan” because I’m not sure they would have been capable of this if it weren’t for these movies.

I like that they’re throwing big bucks at the Twilight Saga because I think it deserves it and hopefully more money will make a better movie.  I know that isn’t always the case but I have almost total faith.  I mean do you have any idea how many sparkles $263 million buys?
