Peter Facinelli plays Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight series, and although I have never met the actor in person, I have heard he is one of the sweetest guys you will ever meet! As if we needed more proof of that, Peter has donated his time to the The Onyx and Breezy Foundation to help support their charity. But they are not the only ones to benefit from this!

Vampires Bring the Cash to Hollywood!

Everyone knows how hot the Twilight movies are, but they aren’t the only vampires who are bringing in the cash. Between Twilight, True Blood, Vampire diaries, and all the other vampires in the biz, Hollywood has found its new gold mine.

Twilight is still the biggest money maker of all of them! Box office sales alone were $1.76 billion, and along with the more then $160 million from video sales, they have brought in more the $2 billion dollars. That doesn’t even factor in the money Summit has made from souvenirs, or from events.

With the TV Shows True Blood and Vampire Diaries, profit is a little bit harder to calculate because most of their money is made through branding, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the networks expect $100 million-$125 million from Vampire Diaries and $50 million-$75 million from True Blood. But even their series DVD’s are selling millions of copies.

Now we have Breaking Dawn coming out, and new TV shows like the The Gates, to help bring in more money. And the more money that comes in just means the more vampires we get! And we won’t be complaining about that!

Carlisle Wins Worst Vampire

Twilight has won its fair share of both honorable, and completely ridiculous awards. In fact when any awards show comes around, we are no longer surprised by the dozens of nominations for Twilight and its cast members. But the Worst Vampire award is a new one, and it went to everyone’s favorite “Daddy”-Vamp, Carlisle Cullen.

The award was given out by Rolling Stones In an Article of Best and Worst Vampires. Robert Pattinson was on the list as #10 Best Vampire, but the real story was Peter Facinelli’s character, Carlisle Cullen, winning #! Worst Vampire. Peter Travers, the journalist who wrote the article, stated:

Facinelli is a solid actor, but playing Carlisle Cullen, the white-haired head of the fang-challenged Cullen vampire family, he looks about as terrifying as Project Runway winner Austin Scarlett, whom Carisle closely resembles.

Well, Peter Facinelli has become quite popular on Twitter, so he took his response to his Twitter page.

YES! I finally came in Number 1 in something!

….Thank you Mr. Travers. As Carlisle is a compassionate humanitarian, and anti-vampire in nature, being the worst Vampire was quite the compliment. Although, you had me at “solid actor”. I did find the comparison to Austin Scarlett utterly ridiculous though … He has way better cheek bones.

Books to Read While Waiting For Breaking Dawn

I know you guys are always looking for things to read that are at least HALF as good as Twilight! We have talked before about book suggestions made by Stephenie Meyer, our staff, and even you! Twilight Examiner has jumped in on the fun and they also posted a list of books to read while we wait!

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia- Set in the south the book focus on a high school kid named Ethan. Ethan meets a girl, Lena, who has been haunting his nightmares for months, like literally! Lena and her family superpowers, and her and Ethan quickly fall in love. With a similar feel as Twilight, this story is a journey through the love and turmoil of the young couple.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins- Just like in Twilight, these books are told through the point of view of a teenage girl. Set in the future, the United States has collapsed. Like in the days of the Gladiators, every year, 2 young students are chosen to participate in the Hunger Games where they fight to the death against each other. Basically, think of a reality show and turn it up a few notches!

Shiver series by Maggie Stiefvater- Jacob fans will love this book about a love between a teenage girl and a werewolf. When Grace realizes that the new boy is actually her wolf, their love becomes stronger, and much more complicated!

Now, I also have to recommend a book series I started reading after Twilight.-

The Blue Bloods series by Melissa de la Cruz- These books mix together all we know about vampires, angels, and even demons and create a completely new story! These books had me completely captivated, I couldn’t wait to read the next books! These books have all the intrigue of Twilight, peppered in with some aristocratic flavor!

Anna Kendrick Sticks up for Twilighters!

Everybody knows that us Twilight fans take a lot of grief from both our friends, as well as the media because of our love for the series. Sometime it is in a more light-hearted way, such as with the new parody, Vampires Suck. But often it is look down on and the achievements that Twilight has made gets ignored. Well Anna Kendrick, who plays Jessica Stanley, Bella’s sometime friend, has had enough of the fan slamming. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, after they implied that fans go overboard, Anna said-

People like to make fun of the fans who camp out but people have renaissance faires; people do Civil War reenactments; people do what they like,’ Kendrick said. ‘I’m tired of hearing people rag on the fans. If you don’t like ‘Twilight,’ don’t buy a ticket.

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves! As a fan, it is nice to hear a cast member sticking up for us. We like Twilight, and feel there is nothing wrong with that, so we are gonna just keep having fun! Thank you so much Anna!

The Hillywood Show Eclipse Parody Teaser Trailer

Since the original Twilight parody video, The Hillywood players have been just as much a part of the Twilight world as actual cast! Twilight fans look forward to their parodies almost as much as they do they actual movies! So of course when Hillywood released their new teaser trailer, the internet was all abuzz! Check it out!

Ok you guys, I don’t usually get into the whole Robsten debate, I just wait for Rob and Kristen to deny it, but Twitter has been buzzing with these photos, and I think you can see why! Robert went to visit Kristen on the set of her new movie, On the Road, and from that visit we got these pictures-

And the Winners Are…

So the Teen Choice Awards were on last night, and no big surprise, Twilight rocked the house!! It was a fun show, hosted by Katy Perry and the Glee Guys, they kept the audience and viewers very entertained. Plus it helps that the night was filled with all of our favorite stars, including Sandra Bullock and Betty White! I was actually really pleased to see Hilary Duff, there, she has been out of the scene for awhile and would love to see her jump back in! But there was no one we were more excited to see then most of the members of the Twilight cast! Unfortunately, Kristen Stewart is on the road filming her new movie, On the Road, but we were all pleasantly surprised to see Taylor Lautner.  Previously it was reported that Taylor wouldn’t make it back in time do to filming on his new movie Abduction, but seeing as how he one tons of awards last night, I think it was a good thing he showed up!

Twilight won a total of 13 surfboards between them, which basically means they won everything they were nominated for!! They even one Fanatic Fans, which really is not all that shocking! Taylor brought home Choice Hottie, Best Smile, and pretty much any other award that could point out how attractive he was! Ashley Greene won scene stealer, along with her co-star Kellan Lutz! Kristen Stewart even one an award for Choice Summer Movie star even without being there!

All and all it was a good show, even if Twilight hadn’t totally dominated!! If you missed last nights show, here are a few clips of our favorite cast winning some awards!!

Pictures From Water For Elephants!

Even when not working on Twilight, the cast is still busy making more box office hits! Robert Pattinson has been working on his new movie Water For Elephants, based on the book by Sara Gruen. In the movie Robert plays Jacob Jankowski, a young veterinary student who takes care of the animals at the circus. Beside the fact that he co-stars with the wonderful Reese Witherspoon, it looks and sounds as though the movie is going to be a huge success! Here are some pictures from the set and the scenery of the movie, in one of the picks you can even see Rob’s SUV!
