With a subject as popular as Twilight is to talk about, rumors and confusion are sure to run rapid. We have all heard the rumors and gossip and wished we knew what was true and what was completely made up. Well, Summit has heard our pleas and they have cleared up some of the rumors and provided us with the REAL information! Check it out:
- There is only one casting director working on THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN films right now – Deborah Zane. As of right now no local auditions are being held. If Deborah’s name is not attached to it in some form or another, it is not legitimate. She is also not putting out nationwide casting notices. Once again – as was the case with NEW MOON and ECLIPSE – any ads you see are completely false. She has set up an e-mail address specifically for casting inquiries (BreakingDawnCast@gmail.com). Don’t get taken advantage of by casting scams!
- The rumor about Renesmee’s name being changed in BREAKING DAWN is FALSE.
- Despite appearing on Xavier’s IMDb page, Riley will NOT appear in the Breaking Dawn movie.
- Any current information about the US release date of the Eclipse DVD has not been confirmed. Summit has not announced it yet.
So much good news! I am glad to hear it! What about you guys? Have more questions that didn’t get answered? Leave them in the comment box!!

Principal Roles in Stephenie Meyer’s “The Host”
Twilighters love Stephenie because she was the one that brought us Twilight in the first place. But Stephenie is known for more then just her great vampire stories, she is also the author of the book The Host, another popular book that is a bout the relationship between a woman and the being living inside her. Sounds weird right? Sure, but writing books that are a little different is what we love so much about Stephenie!
Well, now they are making a movie about this as well and you have the opportunity to play Principal characters in this movie. Just like with Twilight, the directors of The Host are looking for new talent, unknown actors. There is official casting call yet but they are planning to start filming early next year. Stay tuned here for all the information about where and when. But for know, you can check out Acting Auditions.com to get information on how to be prepared!

I know for a fact that a lot of people who read this blog are people who have hopes of being in the acting business. I get hundreds of comments from all of you about how you want to be in Breaking Dawn and what skills you have. Unfortunately, I don’t have any news about Breaking Dawn casting yet, but I do have an opportunity for you to be in a movie with Rob Pattinson.
Rob is filming a new movie called “Water for Elephants” with the great Reese Witherspoon. According to Acting Auditions.com the movie is about a young man named Jacob Jankowski who gets recruit into the circus as a vet. Set in the Great Depression, the now 90 year old Jacob remembers the good and bad times at the circus. While there he meets Marlena who is married August, the twisted animal trainer. He also meets Rosie, the untrainable elephant that was to bring hope to this traveling show. The trio grow in love and trust which is their only hope for survival.
Rob is playing Jacob ( I know, irony!) and Reese is playing Marlena. Right now they are hiring for supporting actors and the filming is set for May. Send resumes and headshots to:

Leverage Camp Update
So, last week I told you all about an acting camp that was going on down here in Portland for the show Leverage. That camp was this past weekend and all we are hearing is glowing reports about how well it went! In fact even the Oregonian paper was reporting about the action!
Leverage Boot Camp was a weekend long event that held classes teaching people about acting and how to get parts. There were specific camps focusing on the different acting parts, there was a Thug camp, a kids camp, teen camp, a behind the scenes camp, and a beginner camp. Each of these camps featured classes that were specific to the group. These classes included lessons, improv, Q and A’s, and so much more. It was truly an experience for anyone interested in acting. The biggest advantage to it was that it was actual movie makers and actors teaching these classes, so they knew what they were talking about and when they gave direction, you listened.
The camp was not just about having fun acting though, it was chance to grow more actors in our community. Lana Veenker, local casting director and organizer for the camp expressed her concerns in this quote from the Oregonian
“My worst fear,” Veenker says, “is that one day we find we’ve used up all the good actors in Portland.”
So they spend the weekend training acting hopefuls, and pushing them to there limit. I loved this story from a camper, Joe Chouinard 34 from Forest Grove, OR
In a Saturday afternoon session, acting coach Robert Blanche worked on a brief scene with Chouinard playing a detective who’s visiting a psychic.
The line was, “I’m embarrassed to be here,” and Chouinard sounded self-conscious saying it. Blanche asked whether the line felt authentic to him.
“I am embarrassed to be here,” Chouinard said. He’s nervous getting up in front of crowds, he said. “I thought I was going to be a thug, so I could come in and mug somebody.”
The others in the room laughed.
“You can use that,” Blanche said. “Use the fact you’re embarrassed about being here.”
Afterward, Chouinard said, “I did not expect to be acting at all. I just thought you had to come and be big and mean-looking.” A competitive bodybuilder, Chouinard is plenty big. But his large brown eyes are gentle, not mean.
“I have no delusions of grandeur,” he said. “I’m not going to replace Tim Hutton. But I could stand in the background, looking menacing.”
There are many more stories just like this one, but they all have the same conclusion, Leverage Boot Camp was more then successful, it was an experience they will never forget.
Leverage Boot Camp

Twilight isn’t the only fun that we have down here in Portland!! In fact lots of TV shows and movies are making their way to Oregon for filming. One of are biggest show is Leverage and it is one of my favorites!! Lana Veenker, one of the principal casting directors for Twilight, also casts this show and she is giving hopeful actors a chance to land key roles in this show, it is called Leverage Boot Camp, here are the details.
This weekend (Feb. 6th-7th) Lana Veenker’s is hosting Leverage Boot Camp through her educational division, Tools 4 Actors. Basically casting is going on for season 3 and many of the actors who played thugs and stuntmen are no longer eligible for roles in the show. So Lana and TNT have several different camps that are workshops that train potential actors on how to be stuntmen and thugs. Here are the camps:
*Thug Camp - 12 hours of instruction, plus 2 lunchtime Q&As
*Beginner Camp - 10 hours of instruction, plus 2 lunchtime Q&As ( + optional stunt class)
*Kid Camp - 6 hours of instruction, plus 1 lunchtime Q&A ( + optional parent class)
*Teen Camp - 6 hours of instruction, plus 1 lunchtime Q&A ( + optional parent class)
*Behind-the-Scenes Camp - 2 hours of instruction, plus 1 lunchtime Q&A ( + optional stunt class and/or additional lunchtime Q&A)
This is just a workshop to teach the skills and not an audition so participating does not guarantee a spot on the show, but it is still an amazing opportunity! for more information go to Lana’s Website or to the Boot Camp registration page. Good Luck!
Are you going to go to boot camp? Share the experience with us!!
New Moon Auditions
With filming coming up any day now Summit and Chris Weitz are getting busy trying to find the perfect actors to play the characters we know and love. For the most part everybody we loved so dearly from the first movie is staying on but there is many more new parts to fill.
Well, over the past couple of days many eager people have been waiting in line to see if they have a chance to be in New Moon, so many in fact that hundreds were turned away at the door because they didn’t all fit. A casting assistant was quoted as saying that they didn’t expect such a big turn out. Many people were upset about not even getting the chance to audition but not everyone can get a role.
I am so excited to see who makes it in and how casting turns out for the next Twilight movie.
I will keep you posted how it all turns out!!
